Take the Floor Participation Terms
Version ttf-2026-10-16-v2 · Effective 16 October 2026
These Participation Terms ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("Participant", "you") and Talpro India Private Limited, which operates HCI Talks ("Talpro", "we"). You accept them, by electronic record, when you tick the agreement box and submit a Take the Floor request. Each request stores the version of these Terms you accepted and the time you accepted it. They apply in addition to the HCI Talks Terms of Service and Privacy Policy; if they conflict on Session Content, these Terms prevail.
1. What these Terms cover
"Session Content" means everything created in or from a Take the Floor session you take part in: the audio and video recording, live stream, transcript, captions, chat, slides or material you present, and every edit, clip, excerpt, summary, article, translation, podcast, social post, highlight reel or other work made from any of them.
2. Recording
Confirmed sessions are recorded and may be streamed. Take the Floor sessions are on the record: Chatham House Rules do not apply unless Talpro says so in writing before the session starts.
3. Ownership of Session Content
Session Content belongs to Talpro. To the extent any copyright or other right in Session Content would otherwise belong to you, you assign it to Talpro India Private Limited — all rights, in all media and formats now known or developed later, worldwide, for the full term of those rights, without royalty or other payment. You will sign any further document Talpro reasonably needs to record this assignment. No participant, employer or other person acquires any ownership, licence or revenue right in Session Content by taking part.
4. How Talpro may use Session Content
Talpro may record, edit, shorten, caption, translate, combine with other material, publish, broadcast, distribute, license to others, sell, monetise and archive Session Content, on HCI Talks channels (including YouTube, LinkedIn, podcasts, newsletters and hcitalks.com) and any other platform, without further approval from you and without payment to you.
5. Your name and likeness
You permit Talpro to use your name, photograph, voice, likeness, designation, and the employer and biography you give us, with Session Content and to promote it and HCI Talks. Talpro will not use them to suggest that you endorse an unrelated product.
6. Moral rights and fair editing
To the fullest extent permitted by law, including Section 57 of the Copyright Act, 1957, you agree not to assert moral rights to object to Talpro's editing, shortening or adaptation of Session Content. Talpro will not distort your words in a way that would misrepresent your views or harm your reputation.
7. Your responsibilities
- You will not disclose confidential or proprietary information of your employer, a client or any other person, and you have the right to share everything you say or show.
- You will not say or show anything unlawful, defamatory or infringing.
- You are responsible for your own statements, and you will compensate Talpro for losses and claims caused by them.
- You take part voluntarily and unpaid, and nothing in these Terms makes you an employee, agent or partner of Talpro.
8. Your personal data
Ownership of Session Content does not reduce your rights over your personal data. Talpro processes your personal data under its Privacy Policy and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. If you exercise a legal right such as withdrawing consent, Talpro will stop new use of your personal data and may remove, blur or edit out your part of the Session Content; Talpro keeps ownership of all Session Content.
9. Removal on request
You may ask Talpro to remove or correct your segment, for example after a change of role or to fix a factual error, by writing to [email protected]. Talpro will consider every request in good faith; outside section 8 the decision is Talpro's.
10. Approval and cancellation
A request is not a booking. Talpro decides who takes part and may cancel, reschedule or decline to publish any session.
11. Law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are resolved as set out in the HCI Talks Terms of Service, with the seat at Bengaluru, Karnataka.
