Is there a fee to speak?
No. Taking the floor is free for approved leaders. HCI Talks is a community, not a paid stage.
Can I start a conversation myself?
Yes. Start a Conversation, shape the brief and choose your preferred role and time. Verify your email, then HCI Talks reviews your proposal. Only after approval does it become a public page you can share.
Does requesting a seat reserve it?
No. HCI Talks reviews every application. If offered a seat, you must confirm participation before the seat is filled. A waitlist request is also reviewed; it is not a reservation.
When do I get the meeting link?
After your seat is confirmed and the conversation reaches its minimum required table. Calendar, Google Meet and preparation details stay private to confirmed participants.
Is this a private Chatham House conversation?
No. Take the Floor is On the Record: conversations are recorded and selected material may be published under the participation terms after editorial review. It is separate from HCI Talks’ closed-door forums.
What happens if the table is not ready?
HCI Talks can arrange another date while preserving the conversation, its participants and its public page. You can request a date change or release your seat from your private management link.
Will my profile appear publicly?
Only if you choose the separate public identity permission. Your email, phone, private notes and pending application are never shown on the public page.
