On the record, always
Every conversation is on the record, and every guest signs a consent before we record. Nothing said in an HCI Talks forum or a Chatham House session will appear in an episode.
Coffee Table Conversations will be an HCI Talks series of on-record conversations with senior leaders, recorded at café tables, city by city. We publish these rules before the first episode so anyone can check our work.
IllustrativeThe studio is the table. The rules travel with us.
Last updated: 24 October 2026. We may update this charter; any change will be dated here.

HCI Talks chooses the guests, the questions and the final edit. Venue partners and sponsors have no say in guests, questions or the edit.
When a café hosts us, we will say so at the start of the episode and in its description, in line with ASCI’s advertising disclosure guidelines.
Unless an episode says otherwise, HCI Talks pays for its own food and drink at every recording.
Guest and member contact details are never sold and never shared with venue partners or sponsors. We handle personal data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and our privacy policy. Read the privacy policy.
We frame, blur or cut footage and audio so that people in the café who are not part of the conversation cannot be identified.
If we get a fact wrong, we fix it and say so. Guests see a preview before publication to check facts; the final edit remains ours.
We report only what we have measured. We never promise partners views, footfall or sales.
